Mourning Jewel Ring 18mm

For millennia, art and jewelry have been created to help us remember death, and to treasure loved ones and cherish the short lives we have.
Memento Mori:  Remember, you must die.
 
I would love to create a beautiful memorial piece just for you.
Your jewel will be meticulously crafted with intention, using your own precious memento: cremation remains of a loved one,
beloved hair, fur, or whiskers, or teeth/pet bones, (as long as they are tiny enough).
 
You can choose to feature your memento solo or adorn it tiny 'guardian' flowers and/or herbs. They are some of my favorites for protection: torilis arvensis and atropa belladonna.
 
-Atropa Belladonna corresponds beautifully with death, the spiritual, and strong protection. 
-Torilis Arvensis is a tiny, delicate yet beautiful flower native to Texas. It is largely considered a "weed" and develops large, brutal stickers.
 
The ring shown is my own and features my mother's ashes. The jewel includes both belladonna and torilis arvensis flowers. 
 
Choose a jewel color to complement your memento. Light items, like ashes, bone or pale fur, contrast nicely against dark backgrounds. Dark items like black hair stand out against pale background colors. For a much more subtle jewel, pair light with light and dark with dark.

Once your order is placed, you will receive an additional email with shipping instructions for you memento. (As of now I must send this email manually, so please allow 1-2 business days)
 
Please allow 4-6 weeks for creation and shipping time after I receive your memento. Any unused portions will be shipped back to you with your finished piece.
 
*All resin will yellow, at least slightly over time, no matter what brands or marketing might say. To combat this, I use a high-quality hard resin for artists and a special 'blueing' technique. For this reason, any very pale or white shades will have a slight blue tint.

*Resin is extremely lightweight, so your jewelry will be much lighter than natural gemstone jewelry
 
*Your jewel will be designed with your memento as the main feature, with any botanicals chosed as the accents and background. Depending on your memento, (such as with ashes) they may blend in and be a little harder to see.  Adding botanicals to your jewel will allow a bit less of the background color to show through. 
 
*Resin gems are relatively delicate and may endure small scuffs over time. With normal wear, these are mostly unnoticeable unless examining up close in bright light, and do not normally hinder the appearance of your jewel. However, I do offer free lifetime resin-gem refreshing, (limit 2x, you pay shipping) so if your stone ever gets a large scuff or damaged, I will be happy to fix it for you.  
 
**Faceted gems shown are for color demonstration purposes only and are not available for your jewel. (This is because faceted resin gems cannot be repaired if they get damaged the way smooth gems can)
 
*As art is imperfect, there may be a tiny air bubble or few in your jewel, or other slight imperfections, though I work as hard as possible to prevent these.
 
*I do not buy pre-made rings or parts. My silver is handforged by me, giving each piece a unique handmade look and feel.
 
*The Jewel is 18mm and may measure up to ~20mm in it's setting.
